Biking on rails

On our last stretch through southern Norway we followed the Numedal in the direction of Larvik. And as we saw more during our trip, three different means of transport go through the same valley: naturally the river, also the normal road and the most scenic of the three, the railroad. In this case a small line where it was not clear if it was still operational or not.

A week back I wrote on the daily news page "... let's bike on the railroad, because that has maximum percentages of 3%. Maybe a good marketing idea for the railroad companies? Tracks for toll paying bikers next to the rails ...". In the Numedal we came through the small vilage of Veggli where exactly this had happened. Only it looked like to have happened already some years back, so the rust was rather thick on both rails and bikes. But don't they look funny?
