A rainy day

Many people sent us e-mail telling how lucky we are with our (midsummernight) sun and nice weather, while in Holland it is rather miserable. Well, to proof that here it can rain as well and that we are getting our part of it, here some rainy pictures. Naturally you will see on this site more sunny pictures: ever handled a camera in the rain ???

The most miserable part of a rainy day is packing your tent in the morning. The cycling itself is not so bad thanks to the proper clothing we have and the good waterproof bags. But packing up is a different issue. The sequence consist of packing all bags but one and throwing them out of the tent with the motto: "they will get a lot more rain than just this".

Then the tent is folded starting from the inside out. With an Erdman Schmidt "De Mier" it is best to first take away the inner tent, then the plastic sheet under it and last step is folding the wet outer tent. Some additional plastic bags take then care of not spoiling the (still dry) inner tent.

Well, even with this exercise, we are getting more and more handy. And most important, here in Norway, after a rainy day, the next day is (so far :-) always a dry one.
